Recently, a lot of my posts have been about health, healthy food choices, and making those choices. I find this funny because I just had this mind blowing epiphany. It truly is a choice.
This last Saturday, I was feeling tired and lazy. I did not want to clean house. I did not want to do laundry. And I did not want to workout. I didn’t want to do anything but hang out with my family. But the more time that went by, the stronger my feeling to workout got. I knew that even on days I did not want to workout, I should. Even a smaller workout is better than nothing. So, I put on my workout shoes, grabbed my phone for music, and headed out to our gym in the garage. I stretched, did ten minutes on the row machine, ten minutes on the stationary bike, and then stretched again. It wasn’t my usual workout but it was better than not working out. I even felt good after it.
Later that same day, I was starting to prepare dinner. The request was spaghetti and meatballs. With the mood I was in, I thought to myself “Just eat spaghetti noodles. Do you really want to put the effort to make zoodles?”. As i was gathering the supplies I decided it wasn’t to much more effort to make zoodles. So, I grabbed a zucchini and quickly made zoodles. As I was sitting at my dining room table with my family. I realized that everything I did today was a choice! Do i workout today…. YES! Do I make a healthier food choice with dinner…..YES! I could have just as easily said no to these but I want to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. That is my goal and to achieve that goal I needed to make these types of choices.
